Eau Claire Soccer Enters a Bold New Chapter with Club Merger
Eau Claire, WI – The local soccer community is celebrating a transformative moment as Bateaux FC and Union Eau Claire FC officially join forces to form a unified club: Union Des Bateaux FC (pronounced “Union Day Bah-toe”). This merger aims to elevate competition in the region while creating enhanced opportunities for players, coaches, and families.
“This merger is about uniting our community and putting our best foot forward,” said Dan Hunt, President of Union Des Bateaux FC. “By combining the strengths of both organizations, we can offer our players an unparalleled soccer experience and compete at the highest levels. Together, we’re stronger.”
The leadership teams have worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition, focusing on:
Organizing staff and resources.
Aligning coaching philosophies.
Cultivating a collaborative and competitive culture.
“Our goal is to provide a platform where athletes and professionals can develop their skills, reach their potential, and represent Eau Claire soccer with pride,” Hunt emphasized.
The newly formed club has ambitious goals for the next few seasons.
Win the WPASL Championship.
Compete at the top of the UPSL Midwest West Conference by 2025.
“While change can feel daunting, this is a moment of great opportunity,” Hunt added. “The momentum Bateaux FC has built in the UPSL will be bolstered by a deep and talented Union Eau Claire FC squad. I can't wait to see us in action.”
The club’s name, Union Des Bateaux FC, pays homage to Eau Claire’s rich history, symbolizing unity and strength. Fans and families can look forward to the unveiling of new branding, tryouts, and community events in the coming months.
“This isn’t just about creating a new entity; it’s about creating a movement,” Hunt said. “We’re building something bigger than any one person or group.”
